The Washington Street Shelter is a gut rehabilitation of an existing 6-story building located in the Financial District that will serve single adults currently experiencing homelessness.

The shelter has a capacity of 84 beds and will provide on-site social, medical, and psychiatric services for clients.

Amenities will include 24-hour security, a dining room with terrace access, two recreation rooms and on-site laundry.

 

The 6th floor is reserved for community recreation. The 6th floor recreation room will include a computer station, kitchenette, and access to the rooftop patio.

The Washington Street Shelter is designed to withstand severe flooding hazards, ensuring safe shelter even in increasingly inclement conditions.
